Just when you thought things might be quiet on the Elon Musk front…
Remember the big brouhaha when the Tesla chief executive used the term “pedo guy” to describe a British cave diver who was involved in the rescue efforts of 12 boys from a Thai soccer team that were trapped in a cave. That diver, Vern Unsworth, drew Musk’s ire after criticizing his offer to send a submarine to aid in the boys’ rescue.
Unsworth said he might take legal action, Musk apologized in a tweet, and the matter quietly went away as Musk then dealt with his next big to-do, a plan to take Tesla private, which he put the kibosh on last Friday.
Of course, Musk didn’t let a sleeping dog lie. Responding to a follower who brought up the “pedo” comment, Musk tweeted Monday: “You don’t think it’s strange he hasn’t sued me? He was offered free legal services.”

The diver’s mother, Vera Unsworth, fired back. She told the British publication Daily Mail that her son has consulted with a lawyer and will be taking legal action against Musk for the “pedo guy” tweet. “Pedo” is a British slang term for “pedophile.”
Tesla didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Musk’s latest tweeting issues. Tesla shares slipped by 2 percent, to $305.25 in Wednesday’s trading session.
