Another Elon Musk tweet is getting attention — of Wall Street.

A Musk tweet Wednesday touted Tesla’s strong August sales of its Model 3, Model X and Model S vehicles, as reported by the publication InsideEVs, which tracks sales and deliveries of electric cars in the United States.

“Tesla 1st, 2nd & 3rd in August sales,” Musk tweeted out, while linking to the report from InsideEVs.

According to InsideEVs, Tesla sold an estimated 17,800 Model 3 cars during August, and an additional 2,750 Model X and 2,650 Model S vehicles during the month. InsideEVs also said the Model 3 sales figures were a monthly record for any electric car worldwide.

Aside from Musk’s promoting InsideEvs figures, Tesla didn’t independently verify or comment on the publication’s data. Tesla last gave an update on its vehicle sales on August 1, when it said it delivered 40,768 vehicles during the second quarter of the year.

Musk’s tweet of the sales report helped give Tesla’s shares a boost Thursday, as the company stock price climbed 2.3 percent to $287.46.
