A Hillsborough mansion once owned by legendary entertainer Bing Crosby has sold for $13.5 million.
Crosby purchased the estate in 1963 for $175,000 and lived there with his wife and three children, according to the report.
The 9,845-square-foot Tudor-style home has 10 bedrooms and 11 baths and sits on three lush acres. It touts old Hollywood glam with a ballroom/living room, expansive pool and terrace area and a chauffeur’s apartment. In 2014, the home had a modern makeover in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room.
Charles Griffith with Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent.
Crosby and his wife, Kathryn, originally moved their family to Hillsborough from Los Angeles because they did not want to raise their children in Hollywood, according to reports. In 1965, the family moved to a larger home in the area, where Kathryn lived until after Bing’s death in 1977.
