During the PG&E power shutdown that will cause power outages for nearly 1 million people in the Bay Area and elsewhere in Northern California on Saturday Oct. 26, 2019 – and potentially for at least 48 hours – the utility has arranged to open community resource centers at various locations in the affected counties.
The centers will open at 8 a.m. on Sunday Oct. 27, 2019 and remain open until 8 p.m. each day until PG&E decides to close them. They provide restrooms, bottled water, electronic device charging and air-conditioned seating for those who live in neighborhoods where the utility shut down power lines in an effort to prevent wildfires during a weekend with predicted high winds.
