From the seemingly mile-long tofu aisles to the fresh banchan and bustling food courts, there’s no denying the Bay Area’s obsession with Korean grocery store H Mart, which has locations in San Jose and San Francisco.

Soon, East Bay shoppers will get a taste. As first reported by the San Francisco Business Times, the specialty grocer has announced its plans to take over a 37,180-square-foot store at 7884 Dublin Blvd. in Dublin. It will be H Mart’s fourth store in the Bay Area. Two San Jose stores opened in 2017 and a San Francisco store, that’s already expanding its dine-in options, opened in 2021.

No word yet on food court purveyors, but the West San Jose store features a Korean tofu house, Chinese dishes and Japanese fusion along with take-home options. There are counters of fish, meat, poultry and produce as well.

H Mart was founded in 1982 in Woodside, New York, and is the largest Asian supermarket chain in the United States.
